We begin the tour with a scenic riverside safari in the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park on the north-western end, extending downstream from the falls and to the south-east along the Batoka Gorges. The park is home to plenty of bird species, palm forest, and an abundance of animals that include buffaloes, impalas, wild beasts, giraffes, zebras, elephants, amongst others.
This tour includes the chance to drive along the Zambezi River where with some luck, you can take the opportunity to view hippos and elephants as they come and drink water in the river during the dry season. The activity also includes the chance to see the few remaining rhinos in the area, a protected species which has been affected by poaching.
