This 3-day adventure begins in Livingstone, home to the magnificent Victoria Falls, before heading north to the peaceful town of Monze. From there, you’ll explore the spectacular wetlands of Lochnivar National Park, located on the Kafue Flats, one of southern Africa’s most important bird and wildlife sanctuaries.

Day 1: Livingstone – Victoria Falls – Rhino Encounter – Transfer to Monze

Morning: Victoria Falls Experience

Your safari begins with a guided tour of Victoria Falls, locally known as Mosi-oa-Tunya — “The Smoke That Thunders.”

Enjoy:

Late Morning / Early Afternoon: Rhino Encounter

Proceed to Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park for a guided rhino tracking experience. Accompanied by armed scouts, you’ll track white rhinos on foot — one of the few places in Zambia where this is possible.

Wildlife may include:

  • White rhino

  • Giraffe

  • Zebra

  • Impala

  • Warthog

Afternoon: Transfer to Monze

After your safari activity, depart Livingstone for Monze (approx. 3–4 hours drive north via the Great North Road).

Evening: Dinner & Overnight in Monze

Check in at your lodge/hotel.
Enjoy a freshly prepared dinner at the lodge or a selected local restaurant.

Day 2: Monze – Lochnivar National Park Full Day Safari – Return to Monze

Early Morning: Breakfast

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before departure.

Morning Transfer to Lochnivar National Park

Drive approximately 1–1.5 hours to Lochnivar National Park, situated on the Kafue Flats.

 

Full Day Wetland & Birding Safari

Lochnivar is one of Zambia’s premier birding destinations, especially known for waterbirds and migratory species.

Wildlife Highlights:

  • Large herds of Kafue lechwe (endemic to the Kafue Flats)

  • Blue wildebeest

  • Zebra

  • Buffalo

  • Hippo (in lagoons)

  • Oribi and other antelope species

Birdlife (400+ species recorded):

  • Wattled crane

  • African fish eagle

  • Saddle-billed stork

  • Pelicans

  • Herons and egrets

  • Seasonal migratory species (depending on time of year)
